I am moving a desktop computer to an upstairs bedroom which has no telephone socket in the wall and would be difficult to route an extension from downstairs.I have wi-fi set up for the laptop but would I be able to set up the desktop to run on wi-fi?What gadget would I need? Hope this is clear ...Thanks.

I wireless enabled a desktop PC for the first time just a couple of days ago.

I bought an internal PCI card for less than £20, took off the PC cover, and fitted the new card (very easy).

Upon restart it found the wi fi straight away and I was able to logon to my router.

Whole process took about 30 minutes.

This was the one I bought.

We did ours with a USB stick like thingy that plugged into the back of the 'tower'. Bought it in the local PC shop.
