I spilt half a bowl of soup over my laptop and now the characters have gone haywire when I type -spaces appear when i don'[ want them, a 't' comes up as a square bracket. Is this easily repairable? It's driving me crazy!
Doesn't sound like it to me. Probably need to go into the shop for a new keyboard, assuming they are replaceable on a lap-top (I don't use them myself).
A few years ago I was eating a bowl of corn flakes while using my laptop and accidently hit the side of the bowl and spilt milk all over the laptop.
The keyboard never worked properly again and the problem is the liquid can also filter down into the innards of the laptop and rot them or stop them working.
Luckily it was a work laptop and they replaced it.
Yours may never work right again, but you may be able to claim on your household policy if you have accidental cover.
It certainly taught me a lesson and I never eat or drink anywhere near my computers nowdays.
Thought for today. Maybe, if the laptop is working ok apart from the keyboard, you can plug in a proper, full sized keyboard into the USB port, and have a better computing experience than you have had until now.
(Maybe even plug a proper monitor in to another port somewhere as well.)
