Tablets computers
I quite like the idea of a small tablet PC, for use in my caravan. but which one ?
I am a little unusual I suppose, in preferring MS Explorer, or similar like Firefox, etc. I have tried the iPad but I know I can't load MS Explorer onto it.
(Safari drives me mad )
So, if its not going to be an iPad, which should I buy ?

And I am not sure there are many Windows 7 tablets (Windows 8 is more likely going to be designed for tablets).
Most tablets are either iPad (from Apple) or devices running the Andriod operating system (from Google). Blackberry also offer Tablets running their software.
People like Samsung (and others) make Andriod tablets, but I dont think you can run Internet Explorer on them either.
The Samsung devices tend to get good reviews.

I have just looked at the Tablets reviews on the Which web site as I am a member.
The recommend 6 Tablets, but 4 of them are iPads (two iPad 1s and two iPad 2s)
The other 2 in their top 6 are the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7".
Two others that get good scores are the Sony Tablet S and the Toshiba AT 100.
They then list loads of others that gradualy get a lower and lower "scores"

Thanks VHG...I wasn't aware that Android tablets can't run IE.
But can I run a similar Browser ? I like the usability of IE. I know we are all supposed to hate Windows but I have been using it since 1995 when I had my first PC ( a Pentium 75.... Heady days ! ) and I like it ! It does everything a computer is supposed to do and everything works with it.
( I did have a small notebook from Acer that I was frankly mis-sold. It ran LINUX and I wasted a whole weekend trying to dowload Itunes onto it, only to discover that Linux doesn't do itunes ! I got someone to put Windows XP on it and its now fine and dandy )
I used a friends iPad 2 the other day. I couldn't find the back button, I couldn't easily find the "favourites" folder, something I use 100's of times a day.
All I need is something smaller and more portable than the laptop I use at present. Caravans are always short of space, so something neat is preferred.
I need a good email system, a device which is quick but it doesn't have to be mega-fast. I don't need a fecking MP player either !

can you browse the internet on the kindle fire? I heard it was an android machine so would that mean in terms of internet browsing it would be the same as an android tablet?
jiverrr, the kindle Fire hasn't been released for UK sale yet.
Thanks for all this folks. I went into PC World today and found they have a million different tablets, so now I am even more confused !
Perhaps I ought to stick with that little Acer One notebook. Now that its got Windows XP on it, and a dongle from Three Network, its really all I need. Its just a little slow.
