Google Earth

I am have trouble with using Google Earth on my XP laptop.
It used to be fine but now it is very slow and jerky.
...difficult to get the "little orange man" in place and then when goes into street view can`t navigate properly.
A box comes up when I first open Google Earth saying about my graphics card not supporting it.
Have uninstalled and re-downloaded but still the same.

Do I need DirectX..alsowehat is the difference between Adobe Flash Player 10 plugin and Adobe Flash Player 11 active?

I really could use some help here,please
