TEXTPAD problem!

Hi All! I recently had a family member visiting and he was updating my laptop - but sadly must have changed the default opening of my text documents from TEXTPAD to NOTEPAD.
I don't like Notepad but don't know how to change the default opening back to my beloved TEXTPAD - and he has gone abroad and is off my radar!!!
I am sure there is a simple way - but I haven't a clue .....EEK
Help please!

right click on a text file in the explorer and in the pop-up menu click on Open With...

below the list of suggested programs you will see Choose Default Program... so click on that

choose the program you want - in your case Textpad - make sure that "Always use the selected program..." is ticked and click OK
