Hi,have just bought a new laptop and young Daughter seems to think I have to have it on charge for 24 hours before using it,but have been trying to set the thing up whilst plugged in. I,m sure that's ok, but IS it? Thanks in advance. Johnt

Is there nothing in the paperwork that tells you?

I'm sure it will be okay though.
Yes, its fine. No need to worry.
Not quite sure where the figure of 24 hours comes from. You can certainly use it while it's connected to the mains. The manual will provide guidance about battery usage, and eventual replacement - they don't last for ever...

It's a £399 HP G6 job from Argos, and although the box it came in was sealed there was no instruction book with it,only a large sheet that showed (in pictures) how to connect bits and plug in.
24 hours is for when you attach battery and charge it for the first tme. Your okay working it from the mains.

Glad to help you !
