my comp has just started recently to fail to pick up the graphics card on start up, i have to restart at least once again for it to connect to it, (gforce 6200) agp
everything is ok inside with the fit and contacts are clean etc
any ideas ?

Have you tried updating drivers or uninstall> reinstall graphics card?

yes i've done all that
the bios is also at default setting
I wonder if it is actually starting to fail. I have zero experience with AGP cards so am at a bit of a loss with this, sorry.
Don't suppose you have access to another AGP card to try, at least that would enable you to narrow it down to either a card fault or a slot fault.

i'll try my friends card in it at the weekend see if that's picked up

i got it from amazon 4 months ago
there getting scarce now as apg is old tech now, there going all pci

Could be worse, you could have an aog graphics card ;-)
Yes I know AGP stuff is scarce. I got mine cheap as it was discontinued at PC World. I needed something AGP that could handle 1920x1080 screen and this was all I could find. I have had no problems with mine so far.
