Altering a letter via scanning

I have a letter with an appointment on it, but so i can get time off i need to alter the time on the letter slightly and then print it off but dont want to go down the tippex road, any advice how i can do it and print it off so it looks ok? Thank you in advance for any helpful replies. X

Can you scan the letter heading and then retype it yourself?

I havent got a scanner thats the problem really i guess, now in days of old i couldve re-typed it

Whats er er er all about i have got friends who have got scanners....just wanted advice about how to do it!
Ask your friend with the scanner whether he has some OCR software to go with it. You can then scan the letter use the OCR software alter the required date and print it out.
Scan the letter then use an editor such as paint.net to alter the image - you can blank the incorrect part of the time and may well be able to copy and paste the new digits required from other parts of the image if the letter includes those characters.
