Media Player finalising disc

Last night I tried to copy a music CD on Windows Media Player (on Vista). I had already put the disc onto itunes with no problem. It coped to Media Player but when I tried to burn to disc each track said "completed" until it got to the last one when it said "finalising". Underneath, it said 91% completed and stayed there. It them seemed to freeze. When I tried the disc in a music system, there was nothing on it. Could there be some sort of code on the disc to stop me burning it? I know that used to happen but I haven`t had a problem with CDs doing that for a few years.
