audio books on i pad

I just bought an i pad, i tried to sync a couple of Audiobooks from my lap top.
They are in the correct format and will play on my i POD ok.
I selected manage files manually because i only wanted certain books on to my i pad.
I clicked and dragged the files in i tunes onto the i pad file.
The cross over appeared to be going over ok in the progress window at the top, when it completed I disconnected the two and looked on my i pad for the files to play.
I opened i tunes on the i pad and looked in Audiobooks but the only things I can see are adverts for books to buy.
How do I find my books I synced ?

Have you looked in the "books" folder?

As I said, I looked in audiobooks, there is no tab for 'books'
