I have BBC News as my Home Page.
Recently, on opening ths page the "Watch / Listen" panel at the top right of the page is replaced by annoying scrolling adverts which I find most irritating.
How can I get rid of this "improvement"?

Does it ? I tend not to look at that panel but I've just checked and it doesn't seem to do so on mine. Do you have malware hijacking it ? Try a scan on your PC.
Use Adblock Plus.
I don't get it... I use an ad blocker, but I can't see why ads should replace an editorial part of the page. You haven't accidentally switched to an international version of the page, have you?
i don't get ads with or without adblock in effect
I sounds like the BBC news page has decided that you are outside the UK - so you can't watch/listen and will get adverts.

Thanks for all your replies.
I have got rid of a few things from my Chrome extensions and installed Adblocker and all appears to be back to normal.
(Thanks for your link, Sunny-D. My location is correct.)
