Converting MP3 files to play on CD?
I have paid for and downloaded an audio book, then put it on a CD so I could listen to it in the car which is what I primarily wanted it for anyway.
I suspected all was not well when the 4.5 hour duration book was only 123mb and fit on one CD, and of course it won't play.
Is there a way I can convert to the sort of mp3 files that are on normal audio CDs?

What you need to do is create an AUDIO CD. An Audio CD is the same as the one you may buy from a shop.
However a 123Mb mp3 file will create a huge Audio file so it wont fit on a single CD. A single CD holds about 60 minutes "audio" and you have 4.5 hours.
I think you need to split up the mp3 file into "chunks" and then make each chunk an audio CD.
I have never split an mp3 file so assume it can be done.
Search for "mp3 splitter" in Google.

Sorry chaps, it was just me being dimwitted - I nearly always write data CDs for photographs and the setting was left on data. All I had to do was record the files to CD in windows media player, remembering to select 'audio cd' first and voila - 4 cds with my audio book on that hopefully will play in the car.
First you need to download and install Windows Media Player or another software product that can burn MP3 files to disc and has the capability to convert formats. Most PCs have Windows Media Player installed already.
Now Open the Windows Media Player. From the menu bar across the top, click the Burn and select Audio CD from the drop-down menu.
Now select the MP3 files that you want to convert and then drag the MP3 files you wish to convert to audio CD format into the burn list in Windows Media Player.
Arrange the songs in the order you want them to appear and click Start Burn.
The MP3 files will be converted to audio CD format CDA and burned to disc.
That’s it now you can easily play the songs in audio format
