My Pc Tells Me That My Virus Scanner Is Turned Off!

When I look at my windows security it tells me that my MS Security Essentials is turned off and it wont let me turn it back on, anybody got any ideas what the problem may be?

Software all up to date, I checked that first.

Are you running another anti-virus package, e.g. Norton? If so, Norton will take precedence and Windows security will be off.

It appears that it is a common problem, I have found the answer by going into security centre and stopping it and re-starting it from there as suggested on other web-sites.

No I dont have any other anti-virus prog running.
