Unfortunately I have to say that I am now confused! Sherrardk basically suggests that one is not necessary, the link posted by Bazile is to the antivirus/security poll and (perhaps as expected) seems to concentrate on pc users. Most of those people suggest that MSE might be the best, of course as far as I understand though, this is not available for iPad. Finally I Googled 'Antivirus And Other Security for a tablet' as used in ballet's post and found this - http://techpaul.wordpress.com/2011/09/28/does-my-tablet-need-antivirus/ This suggests that Apples view is that because entry to their tablets can only be via their app store, no further security is necessary. Is this a good thought - that if Apple say so then I should be able to sleep at night?

Seriously, have had an iPad for maybe two - three years and I get no problems. The kids use the old one (so access lots of game sites, etc) and still no problems. I am not an IT whizz but I have had no problems.
