Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the '100 Bonus points' sign which is flashing madly on the right hand side of my screen, it is really irritating. (if it was something interesting flashing I mightn't have asked -just in case anyone was going to suggest something like that :0) lol-rosy

Use a decent web browser (either Chrome or my preference, Firefox) with the AdBlock Plus add-on installed.

(PS: I promise not to flash anything, Rosy. It's far too cold!).

I do use Firefox, Chris and I have adblock installed -rosy
If you've got AdBlock installed there should be a tab at the top of the ad saying "Block". Click it and it should block it.
If you're still getting any ads then either:
(a) AdBlock Plus isn't enabled ; or
(b) they're being generated via malware. Download, install and run the free version of Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/
(NB: Deselect the option to install a trial version of the 'PRO' software that appears at the end of the installation process)
Thanks, Graham. I forgot about the 'Block' tab.

Thank you both for replying. I do have Malwarebytes Chris ( see, I always take notice of what you recommend) and I don't have any ads showing up. I did have a red ADP or something like that down in the left hand bar but that seems to have gone away now, but I can't see any Block sign. How do I find out if adblock is enabled then, please?
If the ads are missing then it seems that Adblock Plus is enabled, but you can check by seeing that it's listed under:
Tools > Add-ons > Extensions
(If there's a 'Disable' button visible then, clearly, it must currently be enabled).
I don't have AdBlock, but I don't have any flashing Nectar sign either....
Have you installed the Nectar toolbar by any chance? If so you may need to disable that in the way that Buenchico has said above forchecking adblock.
Ah, I didn't know that there was such a thing as a Nectar toolbar. That might well be the cause of the problem. (Thank you, Daffy!).

I have the adblock enabled, but also surprise surprise -the nectar tool bar is enabled too. My daughter has been messing about with my pc lately (as they do!) so she must have done that, I will remove it now and see what happens. Thank you all very much for your help, and you Chris for going the extra mile as always, cheers -rosy (Maybe a quick flash of something when it gets a bit warmer? -rofl )

Phew -all is calm again now, Nectar bar gone and flashing gone with it -thanks to all again -rosy
