A couple of weeks ago I had a problem on my computer which somebody sorted out.I do remember the word "cookie"being mentioned and since then every site that I visit I keep having to insert email address and password - sometimes more than once.I believe this is something to do with cookies so could somebody please tell me how to rectify this problem

I think one needs more information than that. Are you sure it's every site ?

First good move would be to scan your PC for malware & virus. It all sounds very fishy to me.

Check out malwarebytes and superantispyware. I run these periodically to ensure nothing untoward is present on my PC. Run your virus check too.

Which browser are you using?

it doesn't sound like a malware problem, simply that cookies that hold log-in information are are being deleted, and the setting for that depends on the browser, as chrisgel asks

I would guess that the person who sorted out your computer cleaned out everything in its memory. i.e. deleted all the previous cookie information etc, This would delete all the information that you previously entered on the sites that you visited.therefore the next time you visit one of your favourites sites you would have to to re enter your info. With regards to having to enter details more that once ensure that you tick the box that says something like " keep information" if this is what you want them to do , (not advisable though ) remember the less info you put on a computer the safer it is for you.
