Actually move pointer to the top of the browser window (the browser window may not fill the whole screen so it is no good moving pointer to top of screen) then right click in the grey area and select Favorites Bar.
Mmmm!!except 'Favourites' I've been pointing, fiddling & clicking but everything comes up except 'Favourites' now what?
There's not much to do wrong seems quite straightforward, I am using IE
I can only go along with the other posters in the knowledge that you are using Internet Explorer (God knows why, when there are better Browsers)
If you have a pale blue coloured strip towards the top of your screen then do as has been advocated. Right click along it for a drop down menu and click a tick against 'Favourites Bar'. Furthermore, I would also click 'Lock Toolbar' to avoid accidentally loosing it, once you have re-established it.
Click Tools (upper right of screen).
Drop down menu appears.
Hover pointer over Toolbars.
Another drop down menu appears.
Click Favorites Bar box. A tick appears in box.
On same drop down menu, click Lock the Toolbars box. A tick appears in box.
bookbinder.....Perhaps it's me because I cannot get your suggestion to work.
Left clicking the 'tools' icon does Not give a drop down menu with an item printed as 'Toolbars'. Although,if you give the 'gear wheel' tools icon a right hand click it is possible to reset the favourites toolbar from there.
Here's something else you might like to try, Jemisa:
Click Start button (bottom left corner of screen).
In search box below All Programs, type Favorites (make sure that you spell it exactly like that, the American style.)
That might produce results.
bookbinder....It could be we are working with different editions of IE.. Perhaps you are using IE 10 whereas I have been testing out things for this thread on IE 9, which is less problematic than 10.
Although when it comes to what I actually use as my default Browser it is Firefox.
Cheers bookbinder........If you are happy with IE8 then stick with it. No doubt if you were now to up-date IE you would end-up with 10 which, from all I have read about it, the item is really problematic for all folk who are Not using Windows 8; which is also problematic.
You've all been so kind in trying to help me. Believe me I've tried every single bit of your advice & yet I'm still at square one.(zilch) In my documents however I have 'favourites' there & I can use it but to save something to it No.grrrr!!
Yes, Top =half inch thick royal blue line. Underneath AB web address taking up the whole line, underneath thatnew tabBelts: Access.... other bookmarks
Me not being a pc tech person my Daughter set it up & I'm frightened to touch much in case everything goes.
Jem....You may have to click in a few places on the blue line to get a drop-down menu and then be in a position to respond to mccfluff; along with myself who is wishing to be of some further help to you.
Alston, I know you want to help & I'm keen for you to, I clicked on every inch of the blue line but to no avail, nothing, I think I'm going to wait for my daughters next visit & get her to sort it out.
(if only you were round the corner)
I am gratefull for your help and the others too. Luv you all...
