Wander off and leave it to do whatever it is computers do
Sandy my computer does this occasionally but it tells me it will turn off automatically
When the update has finished and it does.
I have this message accasionally, and so i just stop what I'm doing and wait and go and do other things untill the p.c updates whatever it is doing.
No problem, as i dont close down untill all is clear, and then close if you wish.
I now get this every night I shut down laptop very annoying. Should it really do that? Been doing this for weeks.
It's normal Sandy. Let it do it's thing.
if you dont want it, press Ctrl/Alt & delete keys together and cancel the download in the Task Manager
If it's still going like that when you get up tomorrow morning then give up and reboot.
I recommend installing the updates rather than cancelling, but it's your choice

The installation of the upgrade seems to be 'stuck'. The computer now needs to be switched off manually.
If your on here during downloads it would stick, as Abank creates all the advert traffic to slow it down.

Close other websites so your upgrades have less gridlock
Usually it's best to let it run it's course but...
Every now and then an update will erm... Glitch.
I would consider a system restore to before the update was downloaded. It will then re download the file and try again.
Delete automatic windows updates and update when you feel you want to
You haven't said what OS you are using? If you are using Windows 7 then go to troubleshooting and use the repair on Windows Updates which will find and correct any issues it finds.
I get this every night..................I go to bed.
I see from the foot of the page you had the same problem just under a year ago. Could you retry the same solutions?
With your vest on, craft?
Absolutely cupid ;-)
Craft, on what though... it boggles the mind of a southerner ;-)
