We are now on our fourth router.
bt, sKY, bt, bt.

Are the old ones any good to anyone or shall we just take them to the recycling tip?

Recycle if you can and your local Freecycle group will almost certainly be able to put you in touch with someone who can make good use of them.

So they can be used by someone else, jomlett? I didn't realise that. I thought they were obsolete if you were not using them, personally. Thank you. I'll put them on my local freecycle.
Some charity shops may accept them but they are usually very fussy re electricals.
If they are older routers they may not be wireless, or they may only do wireless G (newer ones do a faster wireless N).

So if they are not wireless, or only wireless G, then I doubt anyone will want them.
