Problem With Camera Driver

I am having a problem accessing my Sony DSC camera from my computer. This is the first time I have tried it with my new laptop running Windows 8.1. It keeps saying there is a driver problem but troubleshooting doesn't fix it. I have re-installed the driver from the CD but doesn't make any difference. Hopefully it's not just that the camera is several years old now and will never be compatible??!! Any help appreciated. Thanks.

go to the sony website and see if there are new drivers.

From what I have read about Windows 8.1 there are lots of folk who are having problems with Camera Compatibility; which Did Not exist before Microsoft put a patch on W8 and it became W8.1
