Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive
My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.
Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)
(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

I use up-to-date Avast on W8.1 and don't have this problem. If you right-click the Avast icon in the task tray you'll find the 'Avast Shield Controls' where you can disable it for a period - see if the drive is recognised when Avast is disabled. I suspect it won't make a difference.

I gave Mr S the red coloured pen.
Gawd, I just had to traipse to the library .Mr S picked up my reserved book this morning and it was the wrong book. They got the wrong barcodes in the books so now I've had to go to the back of the queue again.Tut.
It's got out very hot again too.
I've had both my knees washed out years ago now Woofy and it gave me great relief for a long time but they are now crunchier than ever.

Good evening...it's been dull, windy and considerably cooler all day (feels a tad chilly to me). During the heat I didn't have any headaches or coughing. Today I've had a nagging head, griping insides and dry cough...tut. Maybe hot weather suits me after all.
Some tried and tested beauty recommendations, although I'm sure you don't need them :)
Neutrogena body lotion

Clear conditioning mascara. I've been using this for a month and I can see a real difference, my lashes were getting sparse and growing in all directions like dead spider legs.

Ooh I might try that body lotion especially for my scabby leg .I've been using Vaseline intensive care aloe flavour on it as they won't let me have the Dermol on prescription any more.

Yes time flies Jno.I read the famous/celeb peoples birthdays in the paper sometimes and you don't realise how old some of them actually are.
Olivia de Havilland got an honour recently and she's a hundred odd, I think .
Good grief Neti and I thought a quid each for oysters on the market here was expensive .They are good for you though, full of minerals .
Hundreds of years ago they were cheap food for the masses.

Good afternoon, cloudy, breezy and a bit too fresh here. I don't think I want to be 100+ unless I can look and feel 17 again.
I've been playing cricket on the Google doodle. I hadn't a clue what's going on and the bowler was too fast. As I was basking in the glory of the applause after I scored a 6 the next ball would come and knock me out, tut. Give a girl a chance. It even had the nerve to turn me into a duck. Hey ho, little things...
No oysters or anything rubbery for me thanks, I'd rather have salmon paste :)

Hope you're all ok .

Seeing as we're almost halfway through the year I think I'll start saving my points. Won't be long....

hello, long day here....at 2am Shughy did his annual “I found a hedgehog” thing when let out for a pee. So i get him in and settled and hedgehog unharmed and safely in the tortoise pen where he can get out when he wants to but dogs can’t get in. back to sleep till 4am when Shughy wakes me to tell me that dreadful weather is coming and the world is ending...so the edge of the storm goes over and at 5am we have breakfast and go back to bed...Till 8 am when the dogs bounce up full of beans and ready to start the day. I did manage to mend my rickety potting bench though.
