Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

We have had ridiculous weather today...cold, hot, flash storm, literally around 30 seconds, overcast, bright sunshine and round we go again.

Good morning anyone! Overcast and sticky and flies everywhere, not pleasant.
Went to get eyebrows tinted but they were too busy, so its a colouring in job til Monday. Hija has decided to go back to Dubai as she has a good job waiting for her. This island really isnt any good for her she goes into party mode. I hope she doesnt change her mind, i want my car back!

Good evening all...tis I. Sorry if you've been worrying about me again, I don't know where the time goes lately and here we are, only 16 weeks to Christmas ducks :)
I've done my usual trick again, did way too much last week and have spent this week paying for it big time, I've felt dreadful. I never learn. I wonder how many tubes of ibuprofen gel it would take to fill the bath so I can wallow in it?
At least the weekend was glorious so I could sit outside and the neighbours were away so it was quiet.

We'll all be aching a lot more soon, I see they're banning powerful vacuum cleaners to cut energy consumption . I 'spect we'll be dragging out the dolly tub and hand mangle next, tut. Good thing I never throw anything out. :)

Robi so glad you are back and ok (ish). Do take it easy old girl, we need you. I am taking it very easy. Mr N cooked steak in mustard and honey sauce and röesti pots. Really nice it was. Oh I did wash up and clear the kitchen!!

jno jnr went on a pasta-making course a couple of days ago so we have been eating some of his experiments, which are very good. He'll make someone a lovely husband one day.

I'm ok Neti thank you ,just been a bit busy with the garden makeover .
I'm not actually doing anything physical but ferrying tea and bacon rolls back and forth can be quite exhausting:)
It's shaping up nicely and the bit down the side of the house is done.It looks nice and tidy.
The bit at the bottom at the back has proved a bit of a problem though.Digging down to lay the edgings there was a lot of brick rubble that had to be dug out. No wonder nothing much ever grew there.
Nice to see you Robinia ,take it easy.I know the feeling with doing too much.I still think I can lift that barge and tote that bale ,but I'm afraid my barge has left and I keep dropping the bale.

Its a nice day here too. We are having a lolling day today as we did loads yesterday. I have never been poached either although people have tried to drop me into hot water many times. Neti, I don't think Mums ever stop worrying about their children.

We drove to San Antonio for a tex mex lunch and a walk round, gosh it was hot, I was exhausted. The place was full of young British tourists who are not my favourite type of person in general. They don't fail me, sprawling over tables with drinks everywhere and no shirts, I'm surprised the Restaurants allow it! Then we round round the newly rebuilt lidl and I can't find anything now. Nothing good on offer as all kids clothes, but I did find bags of mixed toffees Inc mint so got two bags of them and a bottle of Verdejo wine for 99c! Not that I drink at home but it was such a bargain!

The end of our Lane goes into a smallish road and when walking to town I have to follow road one end or the other, well fhye built a little block with an empty office and a flat above and a nice little alley down the side which was a super shortcut for us all. But apparently last week the troublesome neighbours at the bottom of my garden had a huge fight with the poor girl who lives there, no idea what about, but now she's put a locked gate each end of the alley so no one can use it, it is a shame as it was a nice shortcut. Those blasted paģes ( peasants) I could cheerfully murder them, they cause nothing but trouble here for everyone all the time.

Afternoon all...I'm not overdoing it today, I'm doing booger all. It's grey, miz and feels very chilly in the house. Yesterday was lovely. I sat outside and watched the fragrant laundry, held captive with mismatched pegs, waft gently in the breeze, the silver birch tree seeds clinging to it like tarnished sequins. haha...just painting you a picture.

I've arranged for some new gardeners to do the hedges in a couple of weeks, two pleasant and fit young men, so I hope they do a good job. It's a bit too much for b-i-l & sis to do and I feel obliged to help with the clearing up, which I hate. They asked a couple of thoughtful questions so that's a good start. I'll see if they cover Norfolk :)

Hope neti's hija and jno jnr settle into enjoyable jobs. I was once poached by a different dept in the same company if that counts.

Casualty was a bit random last night neti. Poor Lucy Worsley's chattering away to herself on the tele at the moment. Think I'll throw a pie in the oven.

hello all. Its been wet here all day but once the stormy part was over and it settled into steady wintery rain the dogs were quite happy which is a minor miracle. Yesterday I fixed the bolts and padlock hasp on my side gate which were all jamming. Today after the rain, two are fine and one has jammed again....need to get screwdriver out again methinks but but guess what? I CAN SEE ALL MY BEDROOM FLOOR for the first time since May. Once Sis have been and we have put stuff in the attic and once we have ebay'd in november, that will be the new bedroom clear and ready for visitors.

well, to think yesterday I was strolling round Essex in my bikini practically and today it's thick socks (over thin ones) and a fleece. Not terribly bad weather, just chilly.

Still very sweti here. Hija came over last night, no idea why as we dont see her. I just cooked an English brekkie for her and off she's gone. I was a disaster in the kitchen, dropped 2 eggs which I was going to fry so scrambled the last one but still lost half of it, she didnt notice. Had eyebrows tinted and she plucked the ones I cant see all for €5 +€2 tip. They are a bit big and black but thats because so many were white. My natural eyebrow colour is black. But ive had a scrub of these with acetone and remover, not a lot of difference.
Mousey was a horror last night and Mr N couldnt sleep in our room as too cold!! Then today cat was really strange, crouching on my slippers my clothes qhen i was showering and trying to poo anywhere. She did make a mess on her way to the poo box, but all clean now. She seems to be ok too now. Cant cope!!!

Dreary drizz early on but brightening up a bit now .Hope you're all ok .
Nothing interesting to report really.Had my hair cut this morning and that's about it.
Haha ..I could do with a couple of fit young men too Robinia.I can find them plenty to do,peeling my grapes and making tea and tst etc.
I'm watching Victoria Neti .It's good,and although I cannot stand Harry Potter that Cormoran Strike drama,written by JK Rowling was good too.
