Dodgey Email??

have just received an email from [email protected] - haven't opened it cos it looks dodgey - subject is security of Yahoo mail.
Am not going to open it but am asking if there is anyway of authenticating genuine emails from (say) BT.

The bt.comms bit doesn't look right to me.

Is it addressed to you by name, or is it along the lines of Dear customer/user/client etc? If the latter, definitely spam and potentially harmful.
