Problems Using Scanner On New Hp Printer

Have installed software for new printer as per manufacturers instructions.

I am able to print documents but unable to scan documents.

For the latter I get a message 'Connection to the computer has been lost or OCR application is not installed on the computer'

Any advice in solving this problem would be much appreciated.

I have an Epson printer that can also scan.

But before I can scan I have to set the scan up.

On the Windows menu is an Epson Scan Settings option where I set up the scanner so see if you have a similar one for your HP.

What OS are you using and what model HP is it and how is the printer connected to your computer?
