If you have Windows I am assuming you have used Control Panel\Programs and Features? If so, try Revo Uninstaller (the free version is perfectly adequate.)
Hello, try to follow these manual removal instructions and after that do a scan with an antimalware tool http://www.xp-vista.com/spyware-removal/websteroids-removal-guide
Websteroids would have been downloaded to your computer as part and package of something else you have downloaded. It can be classified as a Virus and is an Adware programme that tracks user's Internet browsing and generates intrusive online advertisements.

I would Not recommend using Revo Uninstaller, which is something of a Registry Cleaner and, unless employed very carefully, could upset the future operation of your computer.

Perhaps I can help you to get rid of the offensive item, but would need to know what Browser you are using and your Operating System ( Windows XP, Vista, W7 or whatever.

Try the scan with Malwarebytes free first, at the moment I would not try the scan with Hitman pro, it may be unnecessary.

Malwarebytes free can be obtained below. Make sure you scroll down and choose the free one. Install making sure you do not choose any additional options and then update before scanning.
