Asus Tablet Query

I have a laptop that I use wirelessly, and have recently been given an Asus memo pad as a birthday present. I am trying to get it online without success as it keeps asking for an SSID and also an authentication problem. I am ignorant of anything IT apart from everyday use so apologise if I sound daft. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Have a look on the back of your router. There should be a couple of numbers on there that you should use.
SSID (Service Set IDentifier) is the name by which your wireless modem/router or your network is known to your devices, such as your laptop.

Many modems have a sticker on them showing the network name and password, such as a BT Home Hub (unless you set up your own Id and password when originally setting up your network).
