Advice Needed On Comodo Security Please

I have just loaded COMODO free security &when I did a TRUST LEVEL scan it showed - TRUST 98.64% - BAD=0 - TRUSTED 1014 - UNKNOWN =14.

I have no idea what the unknown files are that are listed below. The first 12 are all 35 Months old and the last 2 are 90 Months old. I wondered if anyone could tell me what I should do.

1) Uninstall Comodo.

2) Download, install and run malwarebytes. Take appropriate action on anything it finds.

3) Doanload and install Avast free antivirus.

4) Reboot, run a preliminary scan with Avast and take appropriate action on anything if finds.

Dll files are like 'mini-programs' that run certain tasks associated with particular programs (or groups of programs). Windows includes lots of them and others are added when you install further software.

Comodo has recognised 1014 files as being part of Windows, or associated with programs that it knows about, and checked that they're what they claim to be. However there are 14 remaining files that it simply hasn't heard of. That could be because they're hiding something nasty but, given that they've been quietly sitting there for several years, it's FAR more likely that they're simply part of some software that Comodo doesn't knowabout.

In particular, some of those files (such as epfunct.dll) were probably added to your computer's registry when you (or a previous user of your computer) installed a Lexmark printer.

I can see nothing there which would worry me. I'd simply ignore the presence of those dll files. (They seem to be doing no harm and they take up minimal space on your hard drive. Removing them would risk a program on your computer ceasing to work properly).

While I use Avast myself (and, like Jeffa, I'm happy to endorse it), Comodo is also well-respected.

I'm with Buenchico in his opinion.

A couple of those .dll files refer to Lexmark printer and utilities.
I think you can refer any 'unknowns' to Comodo online to get an up to date opinion.

Why uninstall Comodo? It is at least as good as Avast and possibly better. I've been using it now for about 6 months with no problems. I agree it can a bit of a 'nanny' when working, but I'd rather have overkill than underkill any day.
