Can I Safely Uninstall Microsof Works?

I use Windows 7 on my laptop and am running out of space.
So looking through programs and features I can see that MS Works uses quite a lot of space and I don't use it.
Are there any problems likely if I uninstall the program completely?

If you are certain that you Do Not require MS Works, you can remove it without creating any problems.

Thanks for your reply HansUrbancka.
I've done it. I uninstalled MS Word which was taking up over 1 Gb of space.
Only problem I now is that I have less free space than I had before. How is this possible?
I've cleared the recycle bin. Defragged, and cleaned out the ram and temporary files but still I have less space then I had before.
Any ideas?

Did you use the uninstall from Windows to remove it .Unfortunately it doesn't completely remove it . You should have used a program called IOBOT Uninstaller which is free and it will remove all traces of it . What you may have to do is reinstall it and then download IOBIT Uninstaller to completely remove it.
