While downloading updates for my new TomTom satnav, everything stopped and the message 'Please free up disk space on your computer to resume'.
Everything else is going along as before, i.e. at a moderate pace.
It's a fairly old Dell 2400 running XP, SP3 and has expanded memory via Crucial.
Any pointers, in plain English if possible, as to how to go about freeing the space will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Dougie.

Click on "My Computer" on the Desktop and record the values "Total size" and "Free space" for your C: drive in particular and any other drives. Right Click on "Recycle Bin" on the Desktop and click on "Empty Recycle Bin". Refresh the "My Computer" (View, Refresh) values and see if "Free space" has improved.

Thanks methyl. I've done as directed and deleted some photos, music and sundry rubbish too.
Free space has gone from 2.04GB to 2.95.
Most importantly for me, the TomTom download has restarted automatically and seems to have completed.
Could be time for a new computer though. :-)

Thanks for your help.
