Itunes Alternative

DH has iTunes downloaded onto his laptop and is getting increasingly frustrated by the updates causing problems etc.
Could anyone advise an easily used alternative, I have read about Spotify and Media Monkey etc but he is a simple soul and only wants to play and organise his music which is stored on his external hard drive.
I am assuming there are pros and cons for everything but for him ease of use is everything!

widows media player does it all ..very easy to use

spotify and media monkeys are just for playing music not to organize your lists as murraymints says windows media is for that which you will have already on your comp unless its an apple comp

Thank you both, neither of us have ever used the Windows Media Player but will give it a go right now!

*sigh* the WMP doesn't recognise the external hard drive as something to sync with. Suggestions?
