ok if I plug the ipad into the computer it comes up saying it wants apple id and password. but I cant sem to change it or put mine in or anything.even if not plugged into iTunes asks for same thing cant even get on desktop of ipad. ive tried the restore thing from plugging it in and pressing home button and start but it does restore but then askrevious owners id password again
When you buy a second hand apple device there is a function that wipes the previous owners details which they should do for you so it is as if you have bought it straight from the shop. You then put your info into it.
Found this when I googled your problem but it also says it only works with ios7. Apple iPads are now in ios8 so it may not work
Re: How can I bypass the previous owners password on my iPad?
Just but the iPad in Dfu mode. Hold down the home and power button for 15 seconds connected to the iTunes. iTunes will detect an iPad in recovery mode. Restore the iPad this will delete all the content in the iPad making it like a brand new device. Once it's finished you can sign in with your apples and use iCloud etc.

sycamore yes that's what I been doing mate the recovery it goes through the whole recovery but then asks for apple id and password again for the previous owners. so I cant set up new one as it wont let me thatb I have mate.and the previous owner cant remember the id or password. prob is he got it years ago and just never used it hence why he cant remember any id or passwords.i new this when I got it as thought bound to be way round it but it not looking good lol.
I tried to help a friend restore an iPad a few weeks ago (I am not too up on Apple products).
After it downloaded the new iOS, but before it installed, it then said the person had to enter their EXISTING Apple id and password.
As they had forgotten it I told them to go to the Apple shop and sort out a new password.
I could not get "in" to the iPad to do the restore without this Apple ID and password.
I guess this is to stop people stealing them and then just replacing the iOS without knowing the previous owners Apple id and password.

If your mate bought it in the Apple Store they may be able to help you. If it was bought elsewhere they won't. The Apple ID is an email address (hotmail/gmail/blueyonder/yahoo etc) that was put on the device when it was bought. If you could find that out you may be in with a chance. if you could plug it in to your mates itunes or even just load his itunes onto a PC/laptop you may be able to find out the ID (email address) as I am sure it comes up at the top and that maybe why you are still getting the message as your iTunes account has a different name to the iPads' iTunes account. If that makes sense.
ive all ready explained that the recovery mode when finished just takes me back to ding a id and pword from previous owner, so I cant just put into recover mode as it don't work. it does the recovery but at end of recovery still asks for previous owners id password.hence why im stuck on what else to do peeps, so any help be good
