I have an OKI printer which is supposed to print wirelessly via a Netgear 'thing'. It's six months old and so far has worked until today. The Netgear site is hopeless. The 'thing' is a WNCE200. It normally has three green lights on it. One power ~which is on, one LAN which is on but the one marked WLAN is not on. If I press 'reset' the light flashes alternatively yellow and green then goes out. Any ideas gratefully received! Many thanks, Bramley.

I'm by no means an expert on this sort of thing but whenever my Netgear
'thing' (different model to yours) plays up, I switch the plug socket off, unplug it, leave for a few minutes, then plug it in again and switch on. Might be worth a try.

Pull the power lead out, go and make a cup of tea then plug it in again.
A hard reset often works.

Thank you all. Since this is the one thing I haven't tried it will probably work.

I have tried your suggestions and I think its gone to the big Netgear place in the sky. Please can anyone tell me what the 'thing' is called so I may buy another one!!! Perhaps you might be able recommend a better 'thing'! Many thanks, Bramley
I suggest you turn everything off at the wall sockets. PCs, router, printer...everything to do with your pc and printer.

Turn back on in this order:
Router, wait a minute
PC
Printer and thing

I have a feeling it is the IP address of the 'thing' that is causing the problem and this may work.

Thank you very much ~ and so quick!! Bramley

hv4361 I carried out your instructions to the T and your link took me right to the correct model I have. Unfortunately, nothing's changed. Still the flashing green amber light then a red flash and nothing. My PC is a Mac. Do you think this is the problem? The instruction manual only mentioned a Microsoft PC. i find the Mac very difficult to manoeuvre around, not like the old PC. Would you buy another Netgear or are there better makes. It has never worked faultlessly, quite often `i get a message, 'unable to find printer.' I looked on Amazon and there's no mention of the type of PC. Perhaps it is not important. I'm lost!! Bramley.
Sorry, Bramley but I know nothing of Macs. What make/model is your printer?

Is it impossible to connect it by ethernet when you need to print?
Question Author
Yes. I can go back to wires. I don't know much about Macs either. Thank you very much for your input.

hc4361 I don't know if you will see this but you were right. I did persevere and put in the correct address to the Netgear and I've never looked back. Works perfectly, thank you. Bramley.
Great news. Some times it pays to just step away for a while and have another go. :)

Thanks for letting me know, much appreciated
