Editing The Basic Word Blank Doc Template

When I click on the W on the bottom bar to exhibit a blank Word doc it comes up double spaced. I can't get the hang of permanently changing the line spacing from 10pt to 0pt.

You've not said which version of Word you're using. It can make a difference!
