Can ISP's do anything about the Wi-Fi strength from a router?

Mine was working ok and now I cant use the tablet at all unless it is in the same room.

Do you ever switch off your router?

What make and model is it?

And, have you tried completely switching off your tablet and phone?
So that it is powered off and not just in sleep mode. Then switch it back on.
