Docx is a Microsoft Word doc so you would need Word or a Word compatible programme to open and print it.
Many moons ago when I started to come across docx Word documents which my antiquated version of MS Office would not open – I believe that I temporarily solved the problem of viewing and printing by converting the document to pdf.
Yes docx is a Word 10 document. Do you have Word or can you convert it to a pdf. Or can you save it in another format on your laptop?

You can install the MS Office Compatibility pack on older versions of Office to open new Office files.

Get it here

Animals, you can view Word documents by installing the Word viewer.

You can get it here, and also find other ways to view Word files.

Far better is if the person who SENT you the document could convert it into a PDF file before sending it to you (this is easy to do). Then you can read it with just a PDF viewer installed (which most people already have)
