Dual Boot
I am considering a dual boot system on my laptop. I currently run Windows 7 (Home Premium) and would like to install a virtual operating system in windows XP mode. Please could anyone advise if this is possible with my current operating system and also what if any, pitfalls I might encounter along the way especially if my BIOS settings have to be changed.

I sort of agree with @TheChair's general advice but Windows XP mode is not available with Windows 7 Home Premium. https:// en. wikipedia. org/ wiki/ Windows_ 7_ editions# Comparison_ chart Be aware that there has been a high level of reports of dual-boot Windows 7 systems failing during Microsoft Windows Updates. Please post a description of your problem...

Why not just run Virtual XP in Windows 7?
It's free from MS.
