I am looking for a new computer, not to expensive from agos or pc world, I dont need one that plays computer games, but one that will play region 1 dvds, youtube, ebay and watch tv programs, microsoft word processing, security already have keyboard and mouse, thanks
This will suit you unless you want to connect it to tv arial. (You can buy an adapter for under £10 to do that, or use a web based service such at TV Catchup or BBC iPlayer to watch live tv)
You are not going to get Microsoft Word on a budget pc but as OG has said, there are free programs that are just as good and compatible with Microsoft Word
Have a look in Tesco...good prices and no problems if you have any difficulties after purchase.
I also like PC World, as you can wander around, and fiddle with them if you like ! Staff are nearly always helpful as well...choose the youngest lad you can find !
I like ebuyer. Have bought several times from them and I find the ratings of products quite helpful when choosing. Also free delivery. They also seem quite reasonably priced to me.
@Mikey.....blimey,...your remark about helpful staff at PC World surprises me! I haven't found that up here, although maybe the fact that I'm a scared-looking old bag when I'm in the Computer section has something to do with it ;)
Good luck poppy!
I use to use the business side of PC world. I thought they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. You can negotiate with them too. I bought a dozen headphone sets and managed to get 40% off the pack price.
Bathy and ummm...I can only speak from my experience. I am lucky in that a nephew's friend works there, and I try to see him if I can. Like all 17 year olds, he know more about computers than I will ever do !
I had a problem with a faulty keyboard recently, that I bought in March. I had lost the receipt but PC World were very helpful and I was still able to exchange it for a new one.
Handsome is as handsome does, as far as I am concerned !
