Laptop And Ipad With No Email Provider On Them.

I asked earlier about this, how would you get one, I got some replies, to which I replied, but no one had since replied to that...please tell me what to do, I despair, these Machines are useless without the proper things on them...I have an isp, waitrose.com, I can view my emails through their website, but I cannot store much, and I need to. On my old desktop I had outlook express which I would like now, but how do I get it? I await you folks to whom it is as easy as pie!

Just go to the Yahoo site (others e-mail providers are available) and register/sign up for one.

Outlook Express is not a provider, it is an e-mail client that runs on your computer and interacts with the e-mail server that the provider has on the Net. Are you sure a provider is what you want ?

Google free e-mail clients if it turns out that's what you really want.

Someone recommended Thunderbird to me once. But I still use MS Outlook, so I'd not know the good free ones.

The ipad comes with the Mail app.

Or you can get other email apps from the App Store.

If you sign up for Yahoo or any other email site you will probably find their own app in the app store.

As per Tuvok and my previous answer, your iPad has Mail, it's one of the default apps and is the bar at the bottom of the home screen. It is configured by using the settings app and going to 'mail, contacts & calendars', however you will need your email passwords etc from Waitrose.com so it would be best to ensure you have those before you start. However I'm not sure I understand your comment 'I cannot store much', unless Waitrose are very different their servers will store as many emails as the average person would need. As to your desktop I'm afraid my knowledge of things available for Windows stopped at XP about 10 years ago :-)

Having checked your previous thread I feel fairly sure that you already have an e-mail provider and that it is the e-mail client that you need.

I will trust previous posts that the ipad comes with a client already installed; so I think the issue there is finding someone who can help you identify it and set it up correctly.

I figure that the easiest way would be to take all the Waitrose info you have (passwords, e-mail address, etc) to a shop that sells ipads and hope that they have a technician who can help. Or a mobile phone store may be able to help.

As for the laptop the issue is similar. You could do with a recommendation for one of the e-mail clients to download and install and then that needs setting up too.

Ideally only one (the laptop or the ipad) should be set up as the main client that deletes the e-mail from the provider's server after it has safely downloaded to your laptop or ipad, as otherwise you could end up with half your e-mails on the ipad and the other half on the laptop.

None of this is that difficult but I think if far easier if you had someone with you either guiding you or setting it up as you watched and noted/learnt. But if you do choose a client and install it maybe someone here would try to talk you through instalation.
