Wlansvc Not Running
I am attempting to change the wireless channel on my Sky broadband and have followed the instructions carefully but receive the following message:-
The Wireless Autoconfig Service (WLANSVC) is not running
what would be the answer to this problem
I am running Windows 7 system 32 on a desk top computer
any advice would be appreciated Thanks in advance

Click 'Start'
Type 'cmd' in the search box.
In the results panel which appears above, right-click on 'Cmd' and select 'Run as Administrator'
In the window which opens, type 'netsh winsock reset catalog'
Press 'Enter'
Type 'netsh int ip reset reset.log hit'
Press 'Enter'
Restart your PC
Try again
Click 'Start'

There is a run through here Jacko, but you do need to be fairly competent. Many moons ago I had this problem and ended up re-installing W7 if I remember correctly. Good Luck.

Have had a look at your answer Togo but think it a bit too complicated for my limited knowledge of computing Have checked out answers on Sky who seem to suggest that I should keep the wireless setting on auto so think this is what I will do unless someone comes up with an easier answer.
