No Sound When Receiving E-Mails On A Desktop Pc

Suddenly there's no sound when receiving e-mails. Everything else seems fine, have checked the Mail Options & Play a sound when receiving e-mails is still ticked. Baffled ...

It's not clear which email client you're using, so it's hard to give specific advice.

However the first thing to check (of course!) is that you've not disabled your PCs sound altogether. (Watch a Youtube video, or play a CD, to find out).

Then the on-screen equivalent of 'turn it off and turn it on again' is definitely worth a try. (It's solved no end of problems with Outlook, Outlook Express and other email clients for me in the past):
Remove the tick alongside 'Play a sound when receiving emails'. Close your email client. Reboot your PC. Open your email client and put the tick back again.

You haven't got your speaker on mute by any chance?

Buenchico, he's using Outlook - 15 I think. Sure he's rebooted it since it happened (disappeared after a reboot following an infamous Windows 10 upgrade) but will get him to try unchecking the box first. Apart from no sound when e-mails are received, the sound's coming thru' so no speakers on mute, & YouTube, DVDs, etc., adding devices, everything else is absolutely fine.

_I switched off my audio eMail arrival. The blue colour at the top RH corner of the Desktop is all I require.
