Chrome Book
Good evening
Following on from my last post re a faulty laptop/tablet, can anybody advise on how much of a hard drive's capacity does the OS use up on a chromebook please ?? The item that I have just returned was running W10 and had a 32 Gb Hd. 27Gb of this was being used by the OS and the pre installed software. I notice that chromebooks all come with either a 32Gb or 64Gb Hd and was wondering if I might meet the same problem.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Chromebooks (and the cheaper Windows laptops) are marketed on the principle that users will store most things in the cloud (or on external media). However a bit of googling has found one source quoting 6.8Gb as the amount of space taken up by Chrome OS, so you'll still have a bit of space left for installing apps, etc.
