After I run CCleaner I find all my automatic passwords have been removed and I have to laboriously re-enter them all. Why is this please and how can I avoid it? thanks
Top left under both the tabs "Windows" & "Applications" are the browsers that CCleaner will check - you need to *untick* the "Saved Passwords" box in each browser.
When you open CCleaner, click on 'Applications' and take a look under the relevant section for your browser. That will show you what will be zapped when you run the program. Remove any ticks against stuff you want to retain.
There shouldn't be a tick in any of the "Saved Passwords" boxes - have you looked at both tabs - "Windows" (Edge & IE) & "Applications" (Firefox & Chrome).
Ok - if you're removing cookies then the previous session's log-in information - username & password - will be wiped. The info is still stored in your browser, but unless it performs auto-fill on log-in forms, you'll have to enter the info again.
I never clear cookies, saves hassle, but some people like to clear them regularly. They really won't do any harm & are so small that you'd have to have an awful lot stored to see any difference in space available on your hard drive.
If unchecking cookies *doesn't* solve your problem, then we'll have to think again.
