Scans & Foxit Reader
I simply want to scan some photos to my ' Pictures' folder on my pc so that I can use Faststone Image viewer on them to crop etc. I've done this many times before but for some reason the scan now goes to Foxit Reader pdf and I can't send photos to Faststone.
It used to be really easy; scan photo to doc/pictures, 'Open With '.. Faststone, job done. Please help. Never used Foxit Reader before.
I've recently had Windows 10 installed and my printer is a Brother DCP-J774DW
Cheers.

I press 'Scan' on the printer screen and am given the option of scanning to USB or pc, so obviously I choose pc and the image goes straight to Foxit Reader pdf. All I want is to scan photos to PC/documents/pictures etc from where I can manipulate it with Faststone before emailing it as an attachment.
I've tried your suggestion and 'Windows Fax & Scan' does not appear, only Brother Print and Scan - wich I've not had time to investigate yet.
Thanks.

At Section 4 you need to follow the instruction shown as 'to change the settings'. (i.e. DON'T press 'Start')
In Section 5 you can select the file type. You need to ensure that 'Jpeg' is selected, and not 'PDF' (which is what you're getting by default at the moment).
