I want to make juice out carrots, etc. can anyone recommend a good juicer. I see there are 2 kinds - slow and centrifugal. Slow seems to be better, but the prices vary wildly from around 40 to 250 euros.

What's the difference ?

I thought Canary's answer was highly amusing.  Made me smile anyway.

I have a VitalMax Oscar 900 and am very pleased with it.  I bought it mainly to juice produce growing in my garden so that I could make wholesome drinks etc.  However,  like all these things, once the novelty has worn off I only use it occasionally now.   Certainly not to it's full potential.  I can recommend a series of books by Jason Vale though.

I seem to recall reading that blenders might be better as you get the whole fruit/veg. A juicer separates the pulp and fibre. This discussion may be of interest...

One of my daughters in law has one of those Pasta, she makes breakfast muffins with the separated fibre so nothing goes to waste.

I really don't like the veg juice she makes, too much beetroot which makes it taste like drinking soil 🤢

After asking, I received a juicer for Christmas many years ago. I looked at the instructions and all the bits...it was a big awkward looking thing...and never used it. Later I got an early ninja blender and made smoothies...easier and nicer.

pasta; Thanks for that link. I see we actually have a Kenwood blender. Something which I have never used, not being a dab-hand in the kitchen department, to say the least !

Could I make a carrot juice drink with it and how ? It's the vitamin A I'm after. I could just eat the carrots raw I supose, but thats a bit slow and boring.

Khandro, if you've got the equipment, what's to lose, except a carrot or two.

I'd chop the carrots into small pieces and add a bit of ice water. It will be a thick juice. Add some leafy green veg and some yogurt and you'll have a smoothie.

Do you have the instructions for your kenwood? They tend to be heavy duty.

Thanks pasta, I'll ask senior management if we have an instruction book.
