Is this some kind of genius art of the deal stuff that's going on or just stupidity at work. Will they be back up to 50% again tomorrow?

Three months ago these countries were getting along fine and happily trading with each other.
Clearly very few on here have seen big business.
Whilst I am not sure its the right thing to do Trump is clearly running the USA like a business and to be honest he has little choice - the Country is broke.
Will it work, well seems to have done so far but obvioulsy it cant continue.
As for the markets, they will play this for all they are worth, its a game to them to only way to use markets as a guide on the econpmy is long term so again time will tell.

Balancing trade is a good thing for ANY country and is a sensible thing, DJT uses the carrot/stick method and goes in hard - just as a business does, but jst as buiness does he backs off. Yes you get a temporary hit but that irons out very quickly. We saw with Brexit that in Government circles negotiating tacits are woeful (as they seem to be on AB, used car salesmen must love ABers).
As for friends, no country should fully treust another and the USA take that all countries should pay be a full part of the Wests defence is surely a good thing ling term - wouldnt you agreee?
But as I said only time will tell if board room tactics work at a country level.
