Increasing RAM

I have just bought a computer game, "Scrabble", which requires Disc space of 410MB and Memory of 256MB.
The available RAM on my PC is 191MB. Can this be increased to play the game?

Hi Peter,
Yes you can increase the RAM by plugging more RAM in,but it might be worth trying as it is, if it doesn't work, please post your machine Make and Model.
Also be aware that some games require certain Graphics cards.

P.S. Steve, I have given the game a try. It loads up OK but freezes after about four moves, presumably when the memory is full.

You can download a free program called Everest which will tell you which type of RAM you have installed. If you add more, it needs to be particular type or it won't work.
If you install and run that program then click Motherboard > SPD from the left hand side.
Under "Memory Type" you'll probably be told you have DDR memory. Also note Memory Speed.

Post here what you find and you'll get more info.

Hi Peter,
I have not heard of a MaxData PC,sometimes games say 256Mb RAM and they mean that the machine needs to have 256MB RAM Installed in the machine rather than available,should the game run on ME?
As you are running ME, does this mean that the machine is a bit old? If so might not be worth spending too much money on.
