I keep getting updates from microsoft to install explorer.

7.0. Trouble is through no fault of my own i am not running on a genuine copy of windows. It checks this out before it will let me update. Of course it won't let me do owt.
1. Is there any way around this (apart from the obvious).

2. What now are the implications for my pc if i can't update to 7.0?

Many thanks as ever in advance x

It doesn't really matter about IE7. Just use Firefox which is better anyway.

Though you are using illegal software, so regardless of whether it's your fault or not, you should buy a legal copy. You can report the seller you bought your computer off to Microsoft and they'll look into it for you.

It may be more important when you need to validate your copy to get essential security updates.
keeping IE up to date is important, whether you use it as your main browser or not.

It is an integral part of Windows and the critical updates are crucial to keeping your computer running well.

You will just have to surrender and buy a legal copy.
Download firefox, then go to http://www.windizupdate.com/ you can get all your windows updates from there, no probs.

you can only do it through firefox though!!

I wouldn't touch IE7 with a barge pole, nothing but trouble at the minute, I imagine they are working on it though.
