Hard Drives

I'm after a new hard drive......got my eye on a Seagate 320GB......However, it says it's a UATA drive - is this not a standard IDE drive? How is it different from ATA? How do i find out if it will fit? Thanks in advance - Carlos

Looking at the specs it says the interface is ATA-100 so does this mean it's a standard drive? Cheers

Yes, it is "standard".

ATA or ATAPI is the proper name for the interface but it is also known as IDE, EIDE, Ultra ATA, UATA amongst others.
