On the desktop
Right-click My Computer
Choose Properties
Go to the Hardware tab
Click Device Manage
Near or at the bottom of the list you will see "Universal Serial Bus Controllers"
Click the Plus sign
In the list you should see one or more USB Host Controllers
At least one of them should include the word "Enhanced" or "USB 2"

Sorry, should have read your entire question!
You have already found it! The "Enhanced" means it's USB 2

thanks!
are you sure that "enhanced" means usb2.0? why doesnt it appear as usb2.0?
The Enhanced IS USB 2 - so your computer is recognising that you have installed USB 2.

but will it perfom as fast as a usb2.0 or is it just a name recognition?
it is usb 2.0

Just to be absolutely clear: Enhanced means USB 2
You can easily check that it's working
Plug a USB 2 device into one of your old USB slots
Windows will pop up a message along the lines of "This device can perform faster... click here to see a list of USB 2 ports"
