How do I put a Password on a Floppy Disc? I have done it before, but have now forgotten

In the long lost days of Microsoft DOS 3, 4, 5 & 6.2 (Pre Windows 3.1) there was a startup routine that called up a batch file in the A:\Autoexec.bat (Brownbag Software ?).
But in those days Floppy Disks really were very floppy inside a paper envelope and if you wrote on the envelope with a ball point pen you ruined the disc.
The IBM drive would grumble and groan to load the 360K of data as you went and made a cup of tea.
I checked and it locks drives, folders, files. Very snazzy but only works 20 times before shareware needs $28.
